Frequently Asked Questions
Will my pet be safe with you?
The safety and well-being of every pet in our care is always our top priority and fully understand the importance of this responsibility. I have completed numerous Novabright courses including Pet Sitting, Reptile Care, Cat Care, Pet First Aid for people working with animals and Health and Safety: Working with Pets which also covers essential areas such as animal healthcare, nutrition, and relevant animal laws and regulations. Additionally, I am fully insured with Pet Business Insurance, which covers accidents, animal injuries and public liability. I also hold a current DBS certificate.
Will I meet you before starting the pet-sitting service?
Yes, we arrange a meet-and-greet before any pet-sitting services begin. This meeting, typically lasting around 20 minutes, allows you and your pet(s) to get to know me. During this time, we will discuss:
- Your specific requirements
- How best to access your property and collect a key
- The location of your pet’s belongings (preferably in one general area)
- Your pet’s likes and dislikes
- Any areas where your pets are allowed in the home when you are away
- Feeding requirements
- Any health considerations, if applicable
What area do you cover?
Based in Lower Earley – we also cover Earley, Woodley, Winnersh, Sindlesham, Shinfield & Sonning.
What happens in the event of an emergency?
In the case of an emergency, we will immediately contact you or your nominated emergency contact if you are unavailable. I have completed pet first aid training and always carry a pet first aid kit. Should your pet require veterinary assistance, we will take them to your designated vet or the nearest available veterinary clinic.
Will my cat be allowed to go outside while I am away?
While it is generally safer to keep cats indoors during their owner’s absence, we understand that some owners prefer to allow their cats outdoor access. If you choose this option, we will ensure your cat is cared for while they have access to the outdoors. However, please note that we cannot accept responsibility for any loss of pets that have outdoor access.
Do you allow my dog to be off the lead?
We will only allow your dog to be off the lead if we have prior consent to do so in writing.
